Fotografiska is much more than a museum, it is a forum for photography, learning and artistic experiences.
Fotografiska show four major and twenty minor exhibitions a year, world known photographers as well as local talent. The exhibitions are to show a diversity of images that engages and inspires a dialogue on contemporary photography.
In addition to this, Fotografiska work actively toward the acquisition of contemporary photography for a permanent collection.
The Fotografiska Academy teaches workshops and courses to beginners and professional photographers. The Fotografiska Gallery is showing and vending contemporary photography.
The restaurant on the second floor can boast of Stockholm’s best view. Panoramic windows give the feeling of looking at a giant postcard. In the museum shop you will find inspiring books, prints and souvenirs.
In October 2010 Fotografiska was awarded The Grand Tourism Award, only five months after its opening. The motivation read:
