Nordens Ark

Discover Nordens Ark.

At Nordens Ark, you will meet wild endangered animals in a magnificent archipelago at Åbyfjorden in Bohuslän. Here some eighty species live, that thrive in our climate. Here are the snowlepoard for example, the Amur tiger and amurleopard, but also wolves, lynx and old Nordic breeds. You can also see endangered birds and amphibians.

Nordens Ark is a nonprofit foundation that works to give endangered animals a future. We are engaged in breeding, research and education. Some of the animals are then released into the wild. we participate also in international conservation projects.

Exciting activities

All year round there are activities in the park. You can join our keepers and be there when the animals are fed, or look into the feed kitchen and learn about what animals eat and how to activate them. For children there is also fun activities and games. The program varies during the year. Nordens Ark is on Åby manor that dates from the 1300s. On the 383-acre manor are also hiking trails and one of Bohuslän's largest petroglyphs.
